Komplette Medienmitteilung von Stadler in englischer Sprache:
During TRAKO trade fair, Stadler Polska celebrated an important milestone – the production of the 1,000th vehicle at its Siedlce plant. The jubilee train is a five-car, latest-generation electric FLIRT, which will strengthen the fleet of Koleje Mazowieckie. The vehicle is the first unit from the orders placed in 2024 by the Mazovian regional operator. Stadler Polska will deliver up to 75 new trains to serve routes across the Mazovia region.

This achievement highlights not only the scale of the company’s growth in Poland but also symbolically concludes 18 years of successful operations of the Siedlce plant since 2006. The first in Poland produced vehicle and the last have both got a Koleje Mazowieckie livery. Radosław Banach, CEO of Stadler Polska: “Producing the 1,000th vehicle at our Siedlce plant is a great achievement of which we are extremely proud. By focusing on innovation, quality, and local engagement, we have earned the trust of customers across Europe.

From Siedlce to 18 European countries

The history of Stadler Polska plant in Siedlce began in 2006 with a contract for 14 FLIRT units, 10 of which were delivered to Koleje Mazowieckie. This order was an impulse for establishing a production facility in Poland. Since then, all 237 vehicles for the domestic market, and even more for export, have been manufactured in Siedlce.

During the last 18 years the plant has continuously developed – modernizing and expanding production halls and offices, investing in cutting-edge technologies, building a network of local Polish suppliers, and creating new jobs in production and engineering. Today, the facility boasts an impressive record: in cooperation with local suppliers and partners, it has produced 1,000 rail vehicles that transport passengers across 18 European countries, including the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Norway, the United Kingdom, Estonia, the Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary, and Spain.

«This success would not have been possible without the dedication of our employees at every level. The Stadler Polska team now numbers 1,500 employees. I sincerely thank everyone for their commitment. I also thank our customers and partners for their trust and cooperation. In particular, I would like to acknowledge Koleje Mazowieckie, with whom our journey in Poland began and with whom we celebrate today the 1000th vehicle», said Radosław Banach, CEO of Stadler Polska.

135 FLIRT trains from Mazovia for Mazovia

Poland remains the largest market for Stadler Polska, with 237 vehicles currently operating on Polish tracks in the livery of PKP Intercity, Łódzka Kolej Aglomeracyjna, Koleje Śląskie, MPK Kraków and Koleje Mazowieckie.

The cooperation between Stadler and Koleje Mazowieckie has been built over nearly two decades. Vehicles ordered in 2006 are still reliably operating on Polish tracks, including the Warsaw–Siedlce route. Between 2020 and 2023, the plant delivered 61 FLIRT trains to the operator. Under contracts signed in 2024 and 2025, Stadler Polska will supply Koleje Mazowieckie with up to 75 new FLIRT trains.

Adam Struzik, Marshal of Mazovia Voivodeship: «Koleje Mazowieckie will increase its Stadler-Fleet»

«The 1,000th vehicle produced at Stadler’s Siedlce plant, which will operate on Mazovian tracks in Koleje Mazowieckie livery, is a perfect summary of our long-standing and fruitful cooperation. Currently, Koleje Mazowieckie operates 71 Stadler vehicles, and in the coming years, the operator’s fleet will increase by another 64 units», highlights Adam Struzik, Marshal of the Mazovia Voivodeship.

Upon completion of the current orders, Koleje Mazowieckie will operate a total of 135 FLIRT vehicles, with a further contract for 11 units planned. The vehicles significantly contribute to improving the comfort and safety of travel on routes from Warsaw to Masovian cities and towns.

«I am extremely pleased that the 1,000th vehicle leaving the Stadler factory will be operated by Koleje Mazowieckie. Stadler has been a key partner for us for years, providing vehicles with high reliability. Currently, FLIRT units make up more than one-fifth of our fleet. After the delivery of the next vehicles, this share will increase significantly. It is also important, that all of these vehicles are produced in Mazovia, contributing to the economic development of the entire region», said Robert Stępień, CEO of Koleje Mazowieckie.
